How Alexandre Gama Became One Of Brazil’s Most Notable Advertising Executives

Alexandre Gama is an internationally known advertising executive and creative. He has become one of Brazil’s most successful businessmen over the course of his 35 year professional career. He established his own advertising agency, Neogama, in 1999 and serves as its CCO and CEO. His leadership has led to Neogama becoming one of the 20 largest ad agencies in his nation.

After graduating from college, Alexandre Gama became a creative and copywriter when he joined Standard Ogilvy & Mather in 1982. Eight years later after establishing himself in the industry, he joined DM9 which is where he gained national attention for his creative abilities. It was at Almap BBDO where he entered the executive ranks when he was named Creative Executive Director as well as a shareholder. He also worked for the ad agency Young & Rubicam as their CCO and CEO.

Alexandre Gama has been the winner of many awards which are given out to those who make creative ads. He has won the Cannes Festival’s Golden Lion award 23 times as of 2016. He has also been named “Agency Director of the Year” in 2016 by the Propaganda Professional Association. He also won the Caboré Award in 2007 and was voted as the “Entrepreneur of the Year in the Communications Industry”.

One of Alexandre Gama’s most celebrated works was the Rock Giant ad campaign he came up with for Johnnie Walker. This was recognized as one of the best campaigns in the world and received international acclaim.
